About

"For me, being a therapist is
a calling. I am passionate about what I do."

I offer short term and long term therapy to individuals and couples.

Being a counsellor means that I have worked with people experiencing a broad variety of situations in their daily lives.  I am professionally trained in providing both short and long term therapy.

I  have developed an  eclectic approach and integrative way of working. Which means I use a variety of  methodologies and philosophies in clinical practice to bring about a more holistic approach which I think makes the process of therapy more accessible, beneficial and successful.

I like to think of it as a collaborative  journey in self awareness and of being in the moment. It is the art of noticing what is present physically, emotionally, cognitively, without judgement, with a curiosity to learn from noticing established patterns in behaviour. This can lead to a new understanding of oneself  and positive change if desired.

I also offer  Counselling & Supervision to trainees, newly qualified and experienced counsellors.

Face to face sessions are currently suspended, they will be resuming in early 2021.  I am currently offering online and telephone counselling.  Working via various remote sources including: Zoom, VSee, Facetime, WhatsApp, secure email IM & Telephone.

In my experience Online counselling is equally as effective as face to face

Experience

From a very early age I had a great interest in emotional well-being, so as soon as the right opportunity presented itself, I began training to be a counsellor.

During my studies  I completed a placement with Womens Aid, specializing in domestic and sexual trauma & abuse. I returned to  them for a while after I qualified, so have a great deal of experience in this area.

I have been in private practice since 2017 where my skill-set diversified to meet needs.

I undertake Continual Professional Development and add to my portfolio of skills every year.
